Creating our Foundations
If you’re looking for an insightful read, Sonia Choquette’s latest publication, Read Life Accurately – Recognize and Respond to What’s Really Happening is bound to make an impression.
I’ve followed Sonia’s work for quite a while now and find her teachings to be an inspirational guide for enhancing and embracing intuition.
There are so many threads of connection that I’ve already highlighted, underlined, asterisked etc and as a writer myself, this is one of the many signs I consider to be a good read.
One of the things that has brought a lot of clarity is knowing our values. We all know these are important, we’ve all been taught to have them, stand up for them and live our lives in this way.
However, what isn’t as clear is the need to re-evaluate our values as they change over time, just as we ourselves grow and change and we probably don’t spend a lot of time or attention in doing this.
When reconsidering our values, Sonia asks engaging questions about our priorities, our inspiration, how we’re moving forward and the foundation on which we’re creating our lives.
In contemplation, it has inspired me to write a 2 page spread in my journal.
These are some of the notes that I’ve made:
Our priorities need to reflect our values so I’m living my life with what inspires and supports me and my life purpose.
While this is something I’ve been striving towards, I hadn’t considered it as a value and once I did this, the importance and emphasis changed completely.
Then I set about listing the things that do inspire me.
Personal growth and learning
Being able to see and know life’s interconnections and synchronicities
Creativity, enriching experiences
Exploring new places and gaining new insights
If I can bring these beautiful things into my life, I’m raising my own frequency which then emanates out to others. It’s an expansive way of living rather than trying to get through life in a limited way with diminished energy and enthusiasm.
Prioritizing what inspires us determines what we engage in, how we show up in the world, how we approach life’s challenges and how we respond.
I also discovered that I need to be building foundations on the things that inspire me rather than some preconceived ideal which will certainly have its merits but may not be strong enough to withstand life’s challenges and trying times. Without these foundations, things tend to crumble as there’s no real strength or support holding them together.
From this one paragraph with 4 very pertinent questions, I went on to make further connections about family lineage, linking past to present and working towards some much needed change.
I’m only half-way through the book at this stage but wanted to share a glimpse of what’s been highlighted. I’m also relieved and rejoicing in the knowledge that I’m now dedicating more time and energy to what inspires me rather than investing these personal resources into things that continually lead to frustration.
When we’re circling in this lower level frequency we simply aren’t available to receive the intuitive guidance, supports or solutions that may come our way.
I’m excited to continue reading! Sonia’s work can be found at soniachoquette.net
