Inspiration and encouragement for those with environmental sensitivities and those who support them . . .
Andrea Weber and Expansive Happiness®
Working through the challenges of an environmental sensitivity has turned my world upside-down and often left me broken, having to put the pieces back together time and time again and work my way through things. I'm proud of the changes I've made, what I've achieved and the person I've become along the way. There is much to be learnt in managing an environmental sensitivity.
Expansive Happiness® creates empowerment and inspiration for those who are sensitive and raises public awareness about these conditions.
"A community will never fully and completely thrive while there are individuals who cannot thrive within it." Andrea Weber, 2020
A community facilitates healing when all people can positively engage through the provision of adequate and accessible alternatives, leading to much needed support, acceptance and understanding. It is a real tragedy when burden is placed solely on an individual to change in what is claimed to be an 'inclusive' society.
We all play a role, from families and partners to employers and co-workers right through to industry and government as a person’s world is only ever made small by the people who are in it. We can all create an environment where understanding, respect and consideration are openly given.
In line with this, I've recently contributed a Submission for the New National Disability Strategy 2020 due to the continuing limitations of inclusive access.

Highly Sensitive People experience their environments with heightened sensory processing, taking in much more information than the average person. The scientific term is Sensory Processing Sensitivity. Only 20% (app.) of the population are HSP.
HSPs experience life in an incredibly deep and meaningful way and are able to share these amazing gifts when balance is created through self-care, self-compassion and authentic living. We have an innate ability to connect, support and empathise, being compassionate, insightful, intuitive and deeply moved by what’s happening around us.
Without this balance we can easily become overwhelmed and depleted, both physically and emotionally. Not all highly sensitive people have environmental sensitivities and not everyone with an environmental sensitivity is HSP.
